1. Claim Procedure

- Your order number
- Clear photos or videos of the defective product
- Brief description of the defect
- Photos of the PO label / product label sticker, if available
- Any other supporting information requested by ruma

PO label / product label sticker The PO label / product label sticker helps ruma trace the product's manufacturing batch, production date, and supplier details. Customers are encouraged to keep this label attached to the product where possible. However, the absence of the PO label does not automatically void the Warranty, provided that valid proof of purchase and sufficient supporting information can be provided. |

2. General Coverage
This Warranty covers manufacturing defects detected within the warranty period, including the reasonable cost of material components, replacement parts, labour, and transportation charges, where applicable and approved by ruma.
For any item repaired or replaced under this limited Warranty, the repaired or replaced item will continue to be covered only for the remaining period of the original Warranty. Manufacturing defects detected after the warranty period are not covered. In such cases, the Customer shall be responsible for the cost of material components, replacement parts, labour charges, and transportation costs, if any.

3. General Limitations & Exclusions
This Warranty does not cover damage, defects, or issues caused by:
- Negligence, misuse, abuse, accidents, or improper use
- Normal wear and tear from regular usage
- Burns, cuts, scratches, tears, scuffs, stains, watermarks, dents, indentations, pilling, or surface wear
- Damage caused by pets
- Dye transfer, staining, or discolouration caused by clothing, denim, rugs, cushions, throws, accessories, or other external materials
- Use of detergents, abrasives, harsh cleaning agents, or improper cleaning methods
- Steam cleaning, high-pressure cleaning, bleaching, soaking, scrubbing, or improper stain-removal methods
- Failure to follow product care instructions
- Improper assembly, handling, storage, moving, repositioning, or relocation after delivery acceptance
- Self-collection, customer-arranged transport, third-party movers, dismantling, reassembly, or delivery/handling not carried out by ruma or ruma's authorised delivery partners
- Exposure to water, heat, humidity, direct sunlight, coastal salt air, industrial environments, renovation works, construction dust, or chemical exposure
- Mold, mildew, swelling, corrosion, rust, oxidation, fading, or material deterioration caused by environmental or external factors
- Product modifications, repairs, or alterations by the Customer or any party not authorised by ruma
- Use of unauthorised parts, fittings, hardware, mechanisms, covers, legs, castors, or components

4. Residential, Outdoor & Commercial Use
Unless specifically stated otherwise, this Warranty does not apply to products used outdoors.
This Warranty also does not cover products used in a commercial or business environment, including but not limited to restaurants, cafes, bars, hotels, offices, Airbnb, serviced apartments, event spaces, or any other commercial setting.
Where a product is used in a commercial environment, ruma shall not be liable for any damage, accident, injury, loss, or claim arising during the course of business use.

5. Natural Material & Product Variations
The following are natural characteristics and are not considered manufacturing defects:
- Wood knots, 'wood eye', grain variations, mineral lines, pores, and natural markings
- Colour, tone, texture, or grain variations due to natural materials
- Differences caused by screen display, lighting, photography, or showroom conditions
- Minor size or measurement tolerances within industry standards
- Natural expansion, contraction, fading, or ageing over time
- Fabric softening, settling, creasing, stretching, shrinkage, or normal usage impressions
- Leather, faux leather, fabric, cushioning, fillings, and suspension components naturally softening, creasing, stretching, fading, shrinking, or losing resilience over time, depending on usage, body weight, frequency of use, and environment
- Natural odour from new materials, which should gradually dissipate over time
These variations form part of the natural identity, ageing process, and character of the material and are not grounds for warranty claims.

6. Post-Delivery Acceptance & Usage Conditions
Once the Customer has accepted delivery, the product condition is deemed accepted unless a manufacturing defect is proven through ruma's inspection and assessment.
This Warranty does not cover:
- Scratches, stains, dents, pilling, or other surface wear occurring after usage
- Damage caused by moving, repositioning, relocation, dismantling, reassembly, or improper handling after delivery
- Damage caused by third-party movers, customer-arranged transport, or relocation not handled by ruma or ruma's authorised delivery partners
- Aesthetic dissatisfaction after acceptance
- Differences in expectation relating to appearance, styling, material feel, or product proportions
- Comfort preference differences, including products being perceived as too soft, too firm, too low, too high, or otherwise unsuitable to personal preference
Comfort is subjective to each individual and will not be considered a manufacturing defect.

7. Environmental, Pest & External Factors
This Warranty does not cover damage caused by environmental or external factors, including but not limited to:
- Water, moisture, heat, humidity, or direct sunlight
- Mold, mildew, swelling, rust, oxidation, fading, or corrosion
- Pest or insect issues in natural materials such as wood, rattan, bamboo, or similar materials
- Food odour, smoke, pet odour, or other odour absorption from the surrounding environment
- Renovation, construction, chemical exposure, or airborne contaminants after delivery
Pest or insect-related cases may be reviewed only if there is evidence suggesting that the issue originated prior to delivery. Such cases remain subject to ruma's inspection, verification, and final assessment.

8. Product-Specific Notes
Mattresses
Fabric wear, body impressions, comfort preference, settling, and natural odour are not considered manufacturing defects.
Dining Tables & Wooden Furniture
Natural wood characteristics such as grain variations, knots, mineral lines, pores, colour differences, and natural markings are part of the material's identity and are not considered defects.
Upholstered Furniture
Fabric, leather, faux leather, cushioning, fillings, and suspension components may naturally soften, crease, stretch, fade, shrink, or lose resilience over time. These changes are considered normal wear and tear and are not manufacturing defects.
Dye transfer, staining, or discolouration caused by clothing, denim, rugs, cushions, throws, accessories, or other external materials is not covered under this Warranty.
Outdoor Furniture
Weathering, fading, rust, oxidation, corrosion, or material deterioration due to outdoor exposure is not covered unless specifically stated otherwise.
Made-to-Order / Ready-Made Furniture
Differences in expectation, comfort, appearance, material feel, colour tone, or styling after selection, confirmation, or delivery acceptance are not considered manufacturing defects.

9. Items Not Covered by Warranty
This Warranty does not apply to:
- Items marked as 'AS-IS'
- Display items
- Clearance items
- Sale items expressly stated as not covered by warranty
- Products not purchased directly from ruma
- Products without valid proof of purchase
- Products modified, repaired, or altered by unauthorised parties

10. Non-Transferable Warranty
This Warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
It does not apply to resale, second-hand purchases, gifted items, or products transferred to another owner.
Proof of purchase must be provided for all warranty claims.

11. Warranty Assessment & Final Decision
All warranty claims are subject to inspection and verification by ruma, and any resolution will be determined at ruma’s sole discretion in accordance with the warranty terms.
ruma's decision on all matters relating to defects, workmanship, materials, repairs, replacements, and claim eligibility shall be final and conclusive.
Where a claim is approved, it shall be at ruma's sole discretion to decide whether to repair the product, replace part(s), replace the product, or offer another appropriate remedy.
This Warranty applies only within the applicable warranty period and in accordance with the terms stated above.
